Engineering Philosophy

Math and physics aren't abstract concepts—they're intuitive, interconnected structures waiting to be explored.

First Principles

Math and physics form an intuitive, interconnected structure. Like Danny Carey's polyrhythms: complex on the surface, elegant underneath.

Understanding how electrons flow matters more than memorizing which JavaScript framework is trending this week.

Hardware Honesty

Hardware doesn't lie. It either works or it doesn't. No "works on my machine" excuses when dealing with resistors and capacitors.

This honesty should extend to how we teach, how we build, and how we approach problems.

What I'm Building

Three projects, one mission: making hardware accessible and understood.

Ampere Works

Founder & Hardware Engineer
2023 - Present

DIY hardware focused on off-the-beaten-path design and no-nonsense engineering. We build kits that teach, products that last, and tools that make sense.

Absurd Industries

Contributor
2022 - Present

Amit's vision of radical, fun-oriented science experiments. Where we explore ideas that might seem absurd at first but often lead to breakthrough insights. The sassy side of science.

Mecha

Hardware Consultant
2024 - Present

SBC startup taking the hard path through hardware by creating a homespun version of the Raspberry Pi. Love that they're building from first principles instead of just assembling existing modules.

Beyond the Breadboard

Music, math, and the interconnectedness of complex systems.

Musical DNA

Progressive rock forms my core: Tool, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree. Complex time signatures and layered compositions mirror how I approach engineering problems.

Wu-Tang Clan, Massive Attack, Portishead for texture and rhythm. Hip-hop and trip-hop bring the groove that keeps the technical work flowing.

Learning Systems

Math and physics form a large, intuitive, interconnected structure—if you find the right approach. The same patterns appear everywhere from circuit analysis to market dynamics.

Currently working to get better at coding—both embedded systems and the larger software ecosystem. Because the hardware-software boundary is where the most interesting problems live.
